OK, sleep soon, but first to jot down some notes about a new song!
When we were at Treasure Falls, on the road north of Pagosa Springs, just a few miles from the Summit and Wolf Creek pass, I started to write a song by that title. Not necessarily about the location, but with a strong desire to be there, "when treasure falls."
Funny thing is, I was standing partially under the falls, Max alongside me, and I was telling him how I loved to stand there, with my hands pressed against the rock, to feel the spray as it glanced off the rock or was carried by the breeze, and to let the spray cleanse me as I looked up to the top of the falls.
At that very moment, as I was looking up, a rock, covered with thick, green, formerly partially submerged vegetation, broke off from the top of the falls and landed in the water not three feet from us. We were startled! I said, "Max, there's our treasure!"
The rock had already dislodged itself from the vegetation and sunk, but we fished some vegetation out to take with us and press between the leaves of a book, so we can always remember the time when Treasure Falls fell, almost at our feet! (Maybe some material for the song...:-)
