Hey Crabby! (6/8/12)

Tonight was a special night at the beach, with creatures seeming to come by to wish us farewell.

I noticed a large fish about two feet off the shore and pointed it out to Max. Max walked behind it and gently guided it closer to the beach. He could have taken the eighteen inch fish in his hands to move it on shore but I asked him not to, so we simply let him be and wished him well, in return.

Next, a very large hermit crab came walking by. We brought him up out of the water to observe him and take the short video below, and then we wished him well, also.

Finally, in the most unusual incident, while Max was sitting at the water's edge and we were standing right behind him, a normally timid pelican came floating to within a foot of Max. The large bird looked right at us, opened and closed his beak to make a rapid clicking sound, which we took for conversation, and then fished a bit right there in front of us, comfortably, before flying away, as if we were part of his tribe. It was another amazing experience!

We work hard to explore and examine the sea life around us without harming it or imposing our will upon it... maybe, just maybe, our conscious behavior is noted and appreciated!
