Hello! I've been waiting for you…or have you been waiting for me? No matter. Now that you're here - as I am, in a way - I invite you to take a tour of the site. Listen to music, look at photos, read lyrics, leave a comment, read my blog, etc.

Take your time. I just want you to enjoy yourself and connect with me and my music.

I hope you'll find a song or words or an image or an idea that leads you to joy, compassion, inspiration, empathy or deeper insight.  If or when you do, I'd love to know!

Thank you for taking the time to explore. I'll look forward to connecting with you!

Be well…

Happenings

How many times can a musician reincarnate/reinvent themselves? Read all about it in the latest blog post, “Reincarnation”.

May It Be

When I was driving out to the east coast in September, I was working on this song, “May It Be.” Little did I know it would be a sort of lifeline for me on the way home. You see, I got Covid in the Outer Banks, about 2,000 miles from home in NM! As I was driving back, 1,600 miles of which were with Covid in full bloom, I kept working on the bridge, perfecting it! I had perfected the chorus on the way east. I must have sung that song 1,000 times - it is burned into my brain! It is a lovely song, I think, and…

Reincarnation

Ever since I began writing music at the age of four, I've been wanting to make a difference with my music - a difference in mood, elevation, vibration, level of connection, empathy for our fellow humans and all creatures.

Music came easy to me…as part of the natural flow of my life and soul. Still does.

But getting it out? Well, that's a whole different story. Lots of interruptions and distractions…not to the process of creating music, of channeling music, of celebrating and cherishing music. But getting it…

BLESSED BE (Summer 2014 Road Trip Musings) (8/22/14)

“When I am with you there’s no place I’d rather be…”

“Rather Be,” Clean Bandit, Featuring Jess Glynne

Whatever age you were, chances are there is at least one trip or experience that you remember as an eye and heart opener…a view (or “re-view”) of and into things other that expanded your horizon and opened up doors of possibility and even destiny. Yes, that one!

This summer, I drove from New Mexico with my kids – 12- year old Max and 7-year old Tess – on a road trip back east, to my home state of…

SAYING YES (7/16/14)

"You were a dreamer, you dreamed and you flew, Everything was open, for you. A timeless one of beauty, a child so wild and free, Everything is opening again, you'll see."*

I wrote these words to a song a few years ago. On Monday morning, I am driving away from New Mexico...with the hope and prayer that my words are prophetic! I'll be keeping a blog as the kids and I journey.

Here is my first entry:

SAYING YES, July 16, 2014

You know how a journey sometimes begins before it actually physically begins? How…

9/11 and Me (9/11/12)

I got halfway, or less, through a story about my experience on 9/11, eleven years ago, when I realized that it was a story, and that I really wished to communicate other things on this day...

That day may go down as the most impactful day of my life...not because I was flying that day and caught in the chaos, or that even in the aftermath I was hosting live call-in shows on the subject and receiving threats for facilitating discussion looking into the roots of the events and a response.

No, on that day, I…

Every Stone (9/4/12)

This is my faith, I'm never alone, This is my life, as I turn every stone...
© 2012 kathleensabo/voiceandverse

I just had an opportunity to comment upon a beautiful blog entry a friend had written. I want to share what I wrote, because even though the circumstances you find yourself in may be different, my message to you is the same:

"...you describe these days so beautifully for so many of us, I think... so, so rich...yet with fracturing all around, inside and out...and we see how we are richer for the…

When treasure falls... (9/1/12)

OK, sleep soon, but first to jot down some notes about a new song!

When we were at Treasure Falls, on the road north of Pagosa Springs, just a few miles from the Summit and Wolf Creek pass, I started to write a song by that title. Not necessarily about the location, but with a strong desire to be there, "when treasure falls."

Funny thing is, I was standing partially under the falls, Max alongside me, and I was telling him how I loved to stand there, with my hands pressed against the rock, to feel the spray…

Starting work on a new song! (9/1/12)

Began work yesterday on a new song, "Every Stone," with Larry Mitchell. Great to work with Larry again! (And to watch him work - an amazingly talented and skillful producer and musician!)

"Every Stone," is the title track of my next in line CD - after "Be Love" is released, very soon! - and is so indicative of where I am right now: grateful, pragmatic yet hopeful, able to see my real journey with appreciation, humor and wonder...joyful, bountiful, open, receptive, shifting, abundant with possibility...

I'll…

Hey Crabby! (6/8/12)

Tonight was a special night at the beach, with creatures seeming to come by to wish us farewell.

I noticed a large fish about two feet off the shore and pointed it out to Max. Max walked behind it and gently guided it closer to the beach. He could have taken the eighteen inch fish in his hands to move it on shore but I asked him not to, so we simply let him be and wished him well, in return.

Next, a very large hermit crab came walking by. We brought him up out of the water to observe him and take the short…

A Gift... (6/1/12)

I saw something amazing today!

I went out for about an hour or so kayak ride, across the bay, over to the dunes and back. There were no waves, but the wind was hard from the south, making my return journey full of switchbacks.

I pushed myself against the hard wind, heels pressed against the kayak shell. Rather than return directly to the marina, I stopped at the jetty to untwist my tender hamstring. (A tennis tweak.) I walked along the beach, stretching my leg and resting my arms and shoulders, until a…
